What's your favorite dessert?
I have trouble choosing from Thai Sticky Rice and Mango or Pavlova (baked meringue based filled with fresh whipped cream, strawberries, kiwi and banana's with grated chocolate on the top).
Oooo... That's a tough choice. I have many favorites. Tiramisu, bread pudding (with a warm vanilla sauce), creme brulee, chess pie, pecan pie, any kind of ice cream... Why do I not weigh 400 pounds?
Ha ha.....I'll take a piece of each of those thank you!
Ice Cream
I tend to stay away from dairy because it doesn't like me but I do like coconut ice cream.
Lemon Meringue pie
Yes!
The Cheesecake Factory does a lemon meringue pie cheesecake that is OMG delicious!
Cheesecake, or any cake with a buttercream or cream cheese icing, red velvet, carrot cake etc. Hot fudge cake n ice cream. This piece of turtle cheesecake I’m about to demolish is at the top of the list right now though.
Cheese cake mmmmm
Either tiramisu (sp?), or pecan pie. Can't decide which.
Yep tough choice
Once upon a time, I made an Elvis cake. Three layers of banana bourbon cake, layered with peanut butter Swiss buttercream frosting, banana slices caramelized in bourbon, butter, and brown sugar, and topped with candied bacon crumbles and chopped honey roasted peanuts. It was so good, I never made it again.
And if you've never made Swiss buttercream frosting in a double boiler... I don't like frosting in general, but this stuff was AMAZING.
@Stacey48 It was so rich, I ended up giving most of it away so I wouldn't eat it all!
Holy Cow.It sounds pretty amazing. So much work!
@patchoullijulie It was, but it was worth it!
White chocolate cheesecake with a chocolate crumb crust.
My mouth is watering....
Sherry Trifle....old fashioned..but I love it.??
Oh oh...I forgot about trifle.I love that too!
Actually I make a really good one...I am not bragging..but there you have it...
Pecan Cheese tarts - basically mini Pecan Pies. Wish someone would make them for me like Mom used to!
Ok I could get off my bum and do it. lol
Yeah I have that conversation with myself often...I'm still working on getting off my bum
Mmm... Thai sticky rice sounds good right now... Especially if the mango is perfectly ripe and sweet. Also, if it comes with a sweet coconut cream sauce to pour on top of everything
Yes thats the one. mmm
Fresh fruit, off the tree.
If your lucky enough to have access.
@patchoullijulie So much access as a child, we had to cut our mango tree because the house received plenty of stones ricochet from boys trying to bring down mangoes, we also had acerolas (similar to cherries), lemons, limes, red hot peppers. Last... on my Crete, Greece days I had a lemon tree in my house... to send your Scandinavian date to select her lemon off the tree for the tequila shots was "Icing on the Cake" and my type of dessert. I will check what can grow in my Son's backyard in Vegas, flying out tomorrow.
@GipsyOfNewSpain Oh wow I could only dream of mango and lemon trees in my yard. That must have been amazing and not to mention being in Crete. Have a safe trip.
@patchoullijulie Puerto Rico. A lot of juicy fruits available and without chemicals added. Thank You for caring about my trip.
If it's done right, Tiramisu is my favorite.
Yep. I love me some Tiramisu too
Homemade: Tiramisu, Pannacotta, crêpe Suzette, Cheesecake, Sugar pie, sucre à la crème, Keylime pie...
I feel like I'm putting on weight just reading about all these desserts!
@patchoullijulie Everything in moderation... LOL
Omg this thread is torturing me
Ha IKR?
Tiramisu, cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake, all cheesecake, pumpkin pie, strawberry shortcake, matcha mochi...
This was not a good question for someone with the absolute worst food addiction and sugar addiction ever
Oh wow They all sound great.
Chocolate. Homemade Apple cake with vanilla sauce. Pecan caramel fudge. Texas cake. Breyer's natural vanilla ice cream with hot fudge, or rasberries/strawberries/blackbberries. Chocolate pecan turtle cookies. Raspberry crumble bar cookies. Chocolate pie, lemon meringue pie, Key Lime pie. Balsamic, strawberry gelato. More chocolate. That's a start.
Ha Ha so many favorites
cranachan has to be good whisky in it tho
Your going to have to explain that one coz I have never heard of it
@patchoullijulie really simple toasted oatmeal raspberry puree whipped cream and whiskey good whiskey tho can be any fruit mind layered plus honey if desired
@weeman wow yum. That sounds really good
@patchoullijulie oh it is as with most good things tho has to be top notch ingredients
@weeman yep I agree with that.
I rarely eat anything with added sugar, so:
Dark chocolate, at least 85% cacao
Strawberries
If I am going to cheat, which I usually do once or twice a year, one slice of pecan pie.
That is the chocolate I go for. I use it to boost my energy when I am at work, if I need help to get through the last couple of hours of work.
@patchoullijulie Be careful Using sugar to get you through is a formula for trouble, You are almost certainly eating a too carb heavy diet. I used to be the same way. Stopped when I went to low carb, moderate protein, high fat.
@Mitch07102 Actually it is more the caffeine boost that I seek as opposed to a cup of coffee. But I hear what you are saying.
Banoffee Pie; carrot cake; Christmas pudding.
Banoffee Pie?
@patchoullijulie SO frickin' delicious! [bbc.com]
@misternatureboy Yum. I love digestives but I use them to dip into my tea lol
@misternatureboy and you can buy the caramel filling ready made nowadays.. strawberries are nice , too.
@cassiopeia please stop torturing me
Bananas saute with brandy wrapped in desert crepes with whipped cream. Or peaches the same way.
Yes. That sounds great.
