If you could be immortal, would you or no? Give an explanation for your choice
You must mean our physical bodies.
Also, immortal in what way..stay young and beautiful forever? Or age, then stay old and wrinkled forever? Do we keep handicaps and birth defects also?
We are already immortal anyway.
Einstein taught us that all matter is a form of energy, so since energy can neither be created nor destroyed, we have always existed and will always exist in some energy form. No reason to think energy souls don't exist, and quantum physics already tells us different dimensions exist.
"For physicists, the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion." -Einstein
Yes. Imagine being alive when we confirm the origin of our universe or witnessing the end of religion. Imagine experiencing interstellar travel and witnessing the first contact with extra terrestrials. I could fill ten pages with just the thoughts currently in my head regarding this subject.
No. I feel immortality would cause emotional distress. Everyone you know will have died and been buried. You'd have to change your name countless times. If they find out, mortals will attempt to kill you because they fear you. You'd end up living out your immortality in peaceful darkness of a coffin just to rid yourself of the mortals. Plus, other immortals will want to cut your head off just for your quickening. There can be only one.
Nice Highlander reference at the end there buddy
