Take a look at the apes or dogs. The same behaviors exist. So long as there is a scale between male and female, there will be people that show up at every point between the two sides.

Well, you know how genetically men are XY and women are XX? I have a friend who has the genetic anomoloy of XXY. I go with my friend once a month to attend a group of trans/non-binary people. Most of them do not tell people about their difference(s). They are "in the closet" about it. This kind of goes against your theory that they are looking for attention. For most of them freinds outside the LGBTQ community don't kow and the definitely don't tell their employers.

My experience in talking with such persons is that they are looking simply to be accepted for who they are without judgement(s).

There are a few couragepous persons who make up a very small part of the non-binary community who are open and visible to everyone mostly because they feel that by doing so, it will make society more accepting over the long run. They make a point of explaining their differences to make people understand. Not because they seek attention.

There is lots of evidence of biological gender anomalies, but physical manifestations are only the tip of the iceberg as they say. The majorityl differences are liely more biochemical, and little research has only just started. The major problem is that there is no rofit motive in doing reaearch in this area, so there is almost no funding to understand non-binary and gender dysphoria causes and conditions.

Based on some psychological models it is claimed there are mor ethan 30 differences that constitute different genders. However, this is a new field of study, and the current models are only strtign points from where to begin. They re not yet really all that definitive. If you look at the models created by Signund Freud, almost all his models and theories proved wrong, but that ws the starting point of psychology, as all science has to start somewhere. just as alchemy (a discredited science) was the start of modern chemistry.

Yes, some peoel are different and dont' fit into the pigeon holes or boxes that society wants everyone to fit into. As atheists we dont' fit into societal categories a lot of the time either.

Evolution is active and humans are still evolving, which means nature will experiment by introducing differences in people. I think we shoudl accept people with their differences as they are.

At soem point, we may actually understand what the differences are and what causes them, but probably not n our lifetimes. When we do understand, Then there will be pressure mostly from the religious to "cure" the differences, rather than just marvel at and accept how vast human diversity relly is.

From what I understand - having only one person I know who is gender fluid - it is a societal construct. What makes a person male or female is really something society defines. I would love to learn more about that. I identify as a heterosexual female and I know what that means to me, but that may not be the same for everyone.

There are detailed studies that show evidence to support that transsexual brain activity is both distinct and more similar to their preferred gender than to their biological one. Just as the studies show that bisexual and gay brain activity is more closely similar to that of the opposite hetero sexes then to their hetero "normal" counterparts. Everything else is conjecture and bias. In other words, it's genetic.

There's definately an argument there's a psychological thing going on whether its a positive or a negative is still to be seen . Politics has invaded this subject and a lot of the studies are being shouted over by those who wish to exclude biological and scientific evidence......watch the hate i'll get for pointing this out
