All part of the warehousing of kids plan to keep that money flowing and to let parents go to work without paying for sitters.
A famous study that aired every day for months on the Kentucky learning channel in the 1980s showed that when there are only five kids per teacher for two hours a day, students can go up a grade every TWO WEEKS.
All the rest of the time in public school is warehousing..holding all the kids back in lockstep for the slowest kid in the classroom in order to keep them in school as long as possible.
When I was home schooling my kids, they started reading at two and were reading library books by the basketful by four, doing algebra at five. I hadn't planned to even start teaching them until they were five, but they had other ideas.
Wow! Just Wow! I don't know what to say! That is really, really worth some thought!
It's so soon for a tree to be that turned! Same here - they are early this year.
@MissKathleen Nope trust me I was out yesterday and we noticed the trees were already changing., It's weird. Probably the extensive heat we had all summer.
Got their day mixed up maybe. Or yeah... Smoked weed and wanted to practice the route.
Maybe they are new to the job and they are practicing.
Yup. They are practicing for the first day of school....TOMORROW!!! I mean, what happened to the Tuesday after Labor Day?
@SukiSue What happened is that now schools are mostly air-conditioned and there are more breaks. Back in the day (I know, I know) none of the schools were a/c and school did not start up until after Labor Day. There was also no Spring Break, or long Christmas Holiday. We went home on Dec. 23 and returned on Jan 2. Thur. and Fri. for Thanksgiving, and that was about it for the holidays.
