It is arguably the best in human history now if you look what our ancestors did. We are so lucky that we were not born in the wrong time in wrong place in the past, like during world war 1 or 2. But still we are unhappy in every possible way! We will probably be never content and happy with everything we think we need. Coz that's not in our nature of greed and desire! So, there was always the wisdom from the past but are we collectively the wisest though? There's a cycle of war and peace if you look at this chart- as if we just get bored with too much peace and too much war!! It would be wrong to believe that the past was peaceful. One reason why some people might have this impression is that many of the past conflicts feature less prominently in our memories, they are simply forgotten.

Have you read Steven Pinker's "The Better Angels of Our Nature?" Makes a good case for a steady decline in violence, over time. We sometimes forget that dueling with pistols was once an acceptable practice, and cost one of our Founders, Alexander Hamilton, his life. It's hard to imagine making a picnic lunch and packing the kids in the wagon to attend a public execution. Anyone who waxes nostalgic about the good old days, simply hasn't thought it through.

Looks to me like you have that figured correctly.

True, but according to research done with children ages 2-6 worldwide who remember past lives and whose memory details were verified, we've all lived lives in all those times, and not just as humans, but as animals, ghosts, and even trees.

I have many books in my Kindle library with research done those areas. Most Americans are taught to ridicule it, however.

Both my sister and I were born remembering past lives and I've since remembered many more. I even googled some of the more traumatic events, and found the details of what I remembered to be accurate.

We have lived those lives, but when we reincarnate, apparently our memories of those past lives quickly fade. Most US parents just laugh at their girl toddlers when they say things like "When I was a boy, I used to.." as my youngest sister used to do.

She says she still clearly remembers her most recent reincarnation as a boy and how we laughed at her when she mentioned it.
