Wow. We get smoke really high up, and a smell of smoke in teh air in the Portland/Vancouver area... but Wow.
I am guessing the photo is of the Rogue River?
I still haven't gone to the (Clumbia) Gorge after last year's fires... I just haven't had the heart to see what was lost.
Good comparison!!
@Sheannutt that's interesting idea!
That looks so unhealthy to be in.
It's pretty bad here in the Puget Sound area, but not nearly that severe. Yikes!
@Sheannutt Our whole city was evacuated last year, & we we're gone 18 days. Now were on edge again this year.
I'm visiting Seattle right now. It isn't that bad but it is growing annoying and making people sick. Quite a number of people are wearing masks. Also, at the hostel someone stuck a fan in a downstairs kitchen window and sitting there until told to get it out because it was sucking in smoke. Walking around reminds me of standing at the door of a smoking bar; the smell is slowly cloeing your way.
Oregon Smoke Information:
Yup, here too.
@Sheannutt on Saturday the sun cast no shadow s.
I hope that you are safe. Last October here in Santa Rosa wind gusts up to 70mph caused a firestorm that was very frightening. I was awake for 36 hours running on adrenaline. This year seems like a repeat of last year, the air has been Smokey for at least a month.
