The penal colony of Earth?

We are a species with a curious spirit. That spirit had been tested when Humankind challenged itself to orbit the Earth, and land on the Moon. We have sent probes to the solar system, and succeeded landing some on planets and comets. We even have 4 of them traversing interstellar space.

So what do we do now? We might not be able to do anything else. We are effectively trapped here. As much as we would strive to reach further than the Moon...all the explorers willing to rise above and outward...will die.

I am not talking about potential exposure to radiation, or collisions with objects cluttering orbit. I am saying that we are bound to Earth in a very real sense.

We are electrically adhered to the planet itself. Our biology relies on the electromagnetic signature of the planet.

This phenomena was discovered by the Gemini astronauts. Even the minor orbits of the capsules pushed the biological limits of the men there. Minor siezures, temporary memory loss, and paralysis.

Some experiments later, the astronauts were given "Earth bracelets", and the spacesuits were infused with a mesh (you can see them clearly in videos). Both amplify the connection to the Earth's electro-magnetosphere. Short jaunts into space are okay. The ISS also has similar amplifiers for longer stays in orbit.

Theories, not my own, suggest that a massive collision on Venus disrupted the electro-flux of our solar system some 30,000 years ago. The electromagnetic "ether" will never return to it's previous state...unless we find a way to balance it.

How the hell are we going to fix it? I have no damn idea. But I sure as hell don't want to feel like a prisoner.

One aspect that helps ring your bell of truth on the matter is the realization that Earth's particular gravitational pull is a huge factor in our biological evolution. It's something we often overlook as we seek other celestial bodies to one day send people. We can't live long without earth-like gravity. The gravitational pull on the surface of Mars isn't even good enough.

We definitely are prisoners of Earth. But I don't think it has anything to do with Earth's electro-magnetosphere that was caused by something that happened in Venus.

Can you provide links in regards to this electromagnetic "ether" and what these little "Earth bracelets" can do to affect this humongous "ether"? I guess that this "ether" must be really big, right? For it to cross the space between Earth and Venus, I mean. It has to be really humongous.

HOWEVER, we are "prisoners" of Earth and owe it a debt. A debt of ENERGY. It's a good way of thinking about the problem of leaving Earth in regards to how much energy (I.e. fuel) we need to leave Earth. But we're really not prisoners. Because we only need to pay that Energy to leave Earth. And technology should either allow us to afford it or to bring that cost down. Here's a good video that explains this debt of energy to Earth.

To expand on this, I believe that, very far into the future, we'll indeed leave Earth and have human subspecies as Martians and much further into the future as Titans. But I can't see ourselves leaving our solar system. The nearest star is just too far away. Technology should give us the know-how to traverse that space. But whether we last long enough as a species to attain that knowledge is questionable. (Research "Fermi Paradox" and explanations for the paradox. Spoiler alert: one of the explanations for the fermi paradox is that intelligent life generally either extinguish themselves out of existence or die in galactic catastrophes before attaining interstellar travel.)

Do you have a link about the supposed massive collision on Venus? I haven't heard of it. It sounds unlikely to me, but I'd like to know more.
