What are the most reliable media outlets out there. I'm including the cable channels as well as newspapers and the internet.

I listen to NPR and read The Economist. I also read some NYT and WP articles recommended by people I trust. I don't watch TV news at all. Drives me insane.

nyt and wp are SUSPECT

@markdevenish Suspect in what way?

I appreciate all of the comments. I tend to listen to npr and read the NY Times. I definitely think it is a good idea to do research. It's so easy to latch on to a news outlet that tells us what we want to here.

As a rule, I trust print media. But I was a newspaper reporter. Otherwise, CBS is my favorite. ABC and NBC seem a little to "show biz" for me. CNN and MSNBC rely too much on people giving opinions. Fox doesn't enter the conversation.

I'm sure they all have some bias, but it's a sliding scale. The NY Times and the Washington Post seem to be decent. In the new modern electronic age, I have taken a liking to "The Young Turks" and their YouTube broadcast.

I know it sounds strange but radio free europe and radio free asia have some amazing programs.

The most unbiased and well-informed media outlet is PBS television and NPR radio -- head and shoulders above all others.

None of them. I only use media outlets to find Topics and after that it's up to my own research.
