I am not really clear on my reason for not using face time. Other than I don't like it. I would rather text or speak on the phone...and I don't mind typing lots of thoughts!

I taught online where we could see and hear and communicate with each other. I created the class because it was necessary, however, I detested every class. I worked on-air for Public TV when I was in college, but pull out a laptop and I cringe. Yet I would never consider meeting someone whom I have not seen and spoken to in real time. There is much to be said for body language.

Video is as confining as a corded landline, plus you have to do your hair and makeup!

There are a lot of scammers out there. Before I joined this site I was on FB and some strange guy started video chatting with me. He showed all signs of a scammer wanting me to text him in Canada. His fb page looked like Nigeria Central.I had my daughter get him off my fb. I wish my FB friends would call on the phone.

I feel the same way. People have such high hopes for human interaction that they get crushed by the fear of messing up, but practice makes perfect. I’m awfully awkward sometimes, but I’d be alright being awkward with someone rather than no one.
