Anyone feel jaded when it comes to dating?
I lived in Sweden and the "Latin Folks" are the most popular there!
They don't have a dating system there and make jokes how American
women give out fake phone numbers. In other words, women are pretty
much in charge there and they are straight to the point!
Don't get into Trump, religion or conservative politics
there. As long as you treat women as a true equal it will work there and do
insist on picking up the bill when going out ...they pretty split the bills even
if it is a simple "ficka" (slice of cake, etc. and coffee)!
I'm not sure I'd say jaded but I'd be more inclined to say difficult.
I hold out hope of finding someone...but who knows :/
Hi, Sandra, and welcome to the website!
Nope..I haven't dated since 2014, since I've been teaching in Thailand.
By the way, this website has a bit of a learning curve.
For members who are open to dating, certain thumbnails and profiles have a heart symbol on them with a percentage. This identifies which members are open to dating, and the percent shows approximately how compatible others are with them.
You can improve your website score in general by answering all the profile questions and writing a bio, which also earns website points, and helps other members get to know you.
Commenting on posts and writing your own posts earns more points. At level two you can private message people, and at level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt.
If you want to date, the website uses profile algorithms to find member matches, so the more details one includes, the better the match.
Many people prefer to see a written profile talking about interests, hobbies, and backgrounds that can be quickly perused to find others who are compatible with them.
In case you didn't know yet, to find members near you, click on the "Browse" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters.
Click on the "Discuss" button, then "Nearby" to find members near you also.
Or click on the "About" button at the top left of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial.
Points are now being given to level 3+ members who chat. You can see chat rooms on the group main page or at [agnostic.com].
Dating is dying. It takes conscious choices to court a person in our present culture. Swiping right, then sitting in front of Netflix together staring at your phone until someone makes a move, that's the future. Idiocracy.
Choose conversation. Choose to use your brain. You'll meet people who feel the same.
Not me.
In a week, I will meet a retired attorney from Seattle through Fitness Singles. After lunch at Roslyn Cafe (remember "Northern Exposure"?), I will take him on a spectacular day hike to Teanaway Ridge. I took this photo from Teanaway Ridge last May.
So far, we have talked for a total six hours on the phone. We discovered:
We attended the University of Michigan at the same time.
A fellow atheist and Democrat, he shares my love of hiking and Impressionist art.
His voice sounds like home because we both grew up in Michigan.
A ballroom dancer, he wants to teach me to dance: a lifelong goal of mine.
He has a healthy diet like mine. He told me I'm not eating enough fat and protein. He's right.
Hope springs eternal. La la la.
Thank you. Go blue!
Jaded defined as "tired, bored, or lacking enthusiasm, typically after having had too much of something." does not represent my position on "dating" as for the most part, dating was never a part of my life.
Apathetically despondent is more representative of my position as my "dating" standards demand rational thinking (atheist) and in this part of the world, they are few and far between.
Yep I've given up actively trying to do any kind of dating I did put down that I was willing to meet women but that's just to hedge my bets I'm really just here for Community if I meet somebody I meet somebody if I don't I don't I've stopped worrying about it
