Best Hamlet in film?
arnold shwarzenegger should have deff made that film or derek jacobi
Arnie did do a pretty funny remake of Olivier
Although I think he's a putz in real life, I thought Gibson was an excellent Hamlet. He really is a good actor, which makes the fact that he's such a contemptible human being even more baffling. Branagh tends to pontificate to the point that every movie he does is just "The Kenneth Branagh Show" and Olivier, though revered in his time, overacted. Not saying I didn't enjoy the other movies, but Gibson nailed the character.
Also David Tennant
I should have added Tennent"s. Pretty well done.
Alan Rickman.

I miss that man!
@Deb57 Me 2!
Haven’t seen them all so can’t vote....but I liked Kenneth Branagh’s Hamlet. Btw he is Northern Irish, born in Belfast, where I am off to on the train in a couple of hours!
Have a great time!!
