Gotta throw myself a pity party for a minute. Just got my heart shattered into a billion pieces. I need some cheering up. Someone make me laugh please.

I’m so sorry. I can relate.

Haha! Hey, he should be thankful he got a part!

Sounds like somebody needs the love of JESUS right about now. Have you accepted Him into your heart and pledged your eternal love and obedience to Him?

Well STOP THAT! Your better off getting hammered with your best friend at a local bar at a time like this.

Wanna tell us what happened?

One of my oldest friends broke up with me because our talking was putting a strain on his marriage. Granted, it out a massive strain on mine too, but my husband is a bit more tolerant than my friend's wife.

To be fair, I had kinda fallen for the guy, and since he had been in love with me for several years, he had to decide what he wanted to do. I don't blame him. Still hurts though.

@VelociraptorRemy Ohh, that sucks. Was there anything for them to be suspicious of or was it just a matter of jealousy and insecurity of the their part?

Okay, I see you edited the answer into your post so I'll do likewise with mine. So the friendship was potentially dangerous to both marriages. Yes, it's a sad scenario but they did have a reason to compel it to end before the damage was done.

Since 2/3 of my sense of humor is blasphemous.

Do you date older guys?

Well my husband is two months older...does that count?

Oh man, I’m sorry. And you’ve caught me completely without a good joke!

Sorry about that. To avoid future romantic heartbreak, try reading "The Rules," an advice book for women who lack basic cis hetero woman instincts.

It shows femme-challenged women how to attract men by NOT falling for them, chasing them, calling them, and pouring out your heart them.

Instead women are advised to allow men to do all the chasing, calling, messaging, etc., and advised to be happy and busy in your own lives, or at least seem to be, if you aren't.
If someone doesn't work out, it's NEXT, and you move on.

That's how all my cis hetero woman relatives are naturally, but I'm masculine-ish, lacking many woman instincts, so needed the advice in the book. It REALLY works.
My issue is that I like being single and when I'm in a relationship I soon feel claustrophobic.

Omg. Yes! Relationships make me feel instantly trapped. Once it’s “official” I just begin to feel claustrophobic and the relationship is doomed. I thought it was unusual as most people are endlessly searching to be loved. I just don’t feel like that. I thought for a while it might be because I perhaps don’t like men. I kind of actually feel like kicking guys in their misogynist nuts most times, but then I had one lesbian fling and had exactly the same claustrophobic feelings, but even more intensely- like run! For the hills! So, I am basically a primarily heterosexual woman who just doesn’t want the hassle of being with anybody - romantic partners just make me unhappy. I don’t want to get tied into other people’s complexity. I am complex enough for one! I enjoy socializing and some light flirtation maybe something physical, but then I want to be by myself with a cup of tea and a book.

@Livia That's me, definitely. I would love a different category of relationship..a lifetime "friendmate" who lives near me, or in an adjacent apartment, so we could hang, do stuff together, cuddle during a movie, go dancing, hiking, etc. but I can leave afterward and do as I please. I used to drag out the courtships as long as I could-dancing, hiking reading novels aloud to each other, etc., but eventually all the men start pressuring me to fish or cut bait..to make a commitment. That's usually the beginning of the end.

@birdingnut high five sister! I would love a long term partner that lives next door or down the road...forever.
I just don’t want to share my space or the things that ruin relationships- like finances or children.
