I spent time in Naval intelligence (I know the oxymoron joke) and studied a lot about North Korea. I worry about playing politics with a loaded gun. Yes, we can wipe them off the map, but using conventional forces at what a cost. They have a 2 million man military and 2 million man reserve. If they were to attack the South, hundreds of thousands could or would die before we could launch our first counter attack. Also, their leader is perceived as a god, which means people will believe in a righteous cause. Curious what others think. Under Bill Clinton the nuclear program went in hold for ten years because Clinton used bribes - about 380 million dollars in heating oil, which was US refined oil and in a sense along with a bribe to stop nuclearization a help to the oil companies and their employees. I don't have an answer, now that the North has a bomb. So, I am asking for suggestions. Go back to bribery; militaristic threats, which, I personally think will fail; accept and move on like we did with Pakistan; or any other ideas. I bring this up in an agnostic site because Un, their leader, is perceived as a god and that makes things even more dangerous.
