"Gender" is a grammatical term. It has no relevance in a biological context.
You're splitting hairs. 'Gender' became an accepted term for sexual identity ages ago.
if you think the brain is part of your biological makeup, then your statement is incorrect. if you do not think the brain is part of your biological makeup, then what IS it (apart from some strange gray jello)? just because people can be gender fluid doesn't mean gender doesn't exist in humans (grammar aside). it's just more fluid than previously thought to be. and there wouldn't BE gender in grammar if there wasn't some perception of it in nature.

@Hellbent I would say if people feel as if they have been victimized we need to honor their feelings. What seems like nothing to us may very well be something to them? And language evolves and what may be a cliche to us - the older generation - may actually be quite relevant and useful to others.
