I do not own a TV. I was visiting my parents over the long weekend. The watch news and Jepardy every night. There were many political commercials. Makes me glad I don't own a TV.
Jeopardy airs lots of political ads because old people vote.
Jeopardy isn't a bad show. News? All depends on what news they watch. FOX I would run from. And local news has many stations now owned by Sinclair broadcasting( FOX light). In fact they attempted to merge with FOX and were declined permission to do so. Our deregulator and chief must have been busy texting that day. I, too, avoid television, but radio and the internet are now flooded with political ads, except PBS stations.
Lots of folks use TV as a soothing device, something familiar. They could do worse than Jeopardy, though I don’t care for it.. As far as TV news ..it’s been so long since I’ve watched it I recently wondered if stuff like ‘The CBS Evening News’ is still on?
My monopolistic local internet provider requires I purchase basic cable TV in order to receive their internet service … it’s been so long since I’ve watched the TV side ..I forget how to turn it on
Sounds like my parents. Add Wheel of Fortune for a trifecta
Yes wheel of fortune is in there, I was just too embarrassed to add that.
@btroje does anybody remember some horrible made for t.v. movie she did in the 70's? I could only watch a few minutes then. Nearly as bad as the Star Wars Holiday special (so bad it is almost good, with ewoks, the key movie stars, and Chewy with his wife and kid celebrating the holidays similar to Earth's Christmas.
I found that on youtube, looks hilarious. One of these evenings when I want to veg I will take a look.
