I had a boss who always kept his long hair in a ponytail. I asked him why bother keeping it long if he always tied it up. The next day he came to work with very short hair.
Always kept my hair short because it doesn't lay back down once the wind hits and is the worst kind of asymmetric. Hats would just make it look defeated after a long struggle. Only way to win is to keep it short
I've had a similar thought often, including today. My hair is very long now but I always have to keep it tied up or in a bun or I can't do my work. My hair grows too fast for short styles (I hate going to the hair salon), so I just let my hair grow. I let it down for special occasions but those are super rare for me (also for dance).
Every time I hear a man tell me he likes my hair long because women look better with long hair, I just want to slap them (well, punch them so they fly right across the room, but I have to tone down the violence). I don't grow my hair long for men, sheesh.
I’ve wondered the same thing about a lot of women. Having had short hair my whole life, I just can’t relate I guess.
I had long hair for a few years and usually kept it tied in a ponytail. It just kept my hair out of my way when doing things.
I eventually cut it because it was too much trouble to take cre of.
Honestly I grew it long hoping for an artistic look, but itt made me look more like a pot head than it made me look artistic.
And.....what comes next! Did he look better or worse?
He looked about the same. I like my hair long (What's left of it) but it can get in the way so if I find I'm always tieing it back, I'll finally cut it.
