So my sister over nighted my nephew's birth certificte to him so he could get a passport, and then he took it in they told him he needed a "long form birth certificate". None of us had ever herd of such a thing before.

The certificate he had was properly stamped by country officials and has all the information.

I blame those dann Tea Party people who insisted that Obama's birth certificate was not valid. I swear it is becoming leek Nazi Germany in the U.S. where you have show proper papers issued by the "right" people, just to do the most ordinary things.

UPDATE: My nephew texted y sister telling her that evidently, it is an immigration thing affecting only parts of the country that re near the Mexican borer. If he applied for a passport with the certificate he is mother sent him in Washington where his mother lives, no problem, but he is attending USC in Southern California, so for some reason, even though the issuing of passports is Federal and not a date thing, they are making him jump through hoops because Mexico is only about 100 miles away.
