Theists, what do you think of the multi-millionaire prosperity gospel pastors? Crooks or angels?
I do not see it as feasible for anyone to push the prosperity gospel at any scale and not be a crook. Since you're talking "multi millionaire" pastors, then they fall into the category of "huckster".
I can (just barely) see a small church pastor seeing this doctrine as a way to offer hope to an economically disadvantaged congregation, but since it always demands that the faithful demonstrate their piety by giving money they don't have to obtain a result that is unlikely, for a pastor to stubbornly persist in this teaching for any length of time just inherently demonstrates a desire to fleece the sheeple.
Are there any theists on an Agnostics website to ask this question of?
