How and where did we get life/soul? What'd happen to it after our death?
My parents gave me life.
Life stops with death.
You would need to define a soul before I could even speculate whether or not one could exist.
we don't know for certain, from a subjective point of view, what happens after death, but by all indications, from an outside view, nothing. we die. it's over. asking where we got our souls when not everyone agrees on what a soul is, much less whether they exist, isn't likely to get you a definitive answer. lots of people have ideas about it; no one KNOWS. as for how we got life, that is a complex thing that can't be answered easily in a post less than a mile long, but i suggest that you read a little about the human brain if you're equating life with consciousness (they don't mean the same thing) and if not, then read something technical about how humanity evolved.

Here's what I think: All the right ingredients came together to create your life. Each life fulfills some or many purposes. Our consciousness tells us we are alive, we strive to learn, grow, produce something of ourselves, either intellectually or physically, contributing to the world around us, as we absorb also from the world around us. When we die we are as we were before we were born, our life non-existent. If we want to be remembered after we die we can try to leave something of ourselves in others or something physical that leaves a mark on society. (Hopefully a positive one!)
Death is probably the same as before you were born. My friend died 3 times. No memories, no conceness , no pearly gates, no hellfire.
Who says that life and soul are the same thing? I'm not sure that they are. I really don't think anything happens after you die. I think you are just gone.
