Science adjusts its views based on what’s observed.
Faith is the denial of observation so that belief can be preserved.
Tim Minchin, "Storm".
just a little quibble, and that is that science hasn't got any views. science is a study. scientists change their views, not science. scientists change them based on observation, and testing, and retesting. that's a good thing. faith is as you say.

It is as you say. We have a tendency to personify concepts - a form of poetic lazy-speak.
However people are willing to follow blindly for whatever reason and that I find to be unacceptable.
They will only do this while it is socially acceptable to do so. The concept of God is becoming more and more like an old toothpaste tube, squeezed beyond use.
@genessa It always seems darkest just before the dawn. The study of the Genome has put pay to the old fabrication that God made Man as a special creation in his own image, and the evidence will continue to build and build. I sense a distant rumbling, an avalanche of Fact burying all such dishonest fictions. By the end of this century those of a religious bent will be looked upon as troglodytes (and not in a Platonic sense!) For the moment the slow drift towards secularism continues.
