If you're a lover of nature, I want to start a movement.
Whenever I'm bike riding, walking, fishing, kayaking or whatever in the great outdoors, I always see lots of trash left behind by (I'm assuming) assholes. I always make sure I don't add to the litter, in fact I always subtract from it.
I've gotten to the point that I usually take a pair of surgical gloves and a plastic bag with me, and at least fill it up once and take it with me. I'm not much of an activist because of my quiet nature, but I really am disgusted by all the trash I see everywhere.
I'd like to suggest that other like minded agnostics/atheists join me in this. I live in Tennessee where most people are religious and think God will pick up after them. Where you live may be better, and not need picking up after. It would be great if I could convince just a few of you to join the "movement" and clean up the world one beer bottle at a time.
I realize this is not everybody's idea of fun and if it's not for you, I understand, but if you think it's an idea that's worth doing, thank you!

In middle school we had a great principal had little schemes he would come up with to teach us.
In the beginning of the year he would invest a few days in his fight against trash.
He would ball up a $5 bill in a piece of paper and leave it on the ground normally somewhat near a trash can. He'd keep a lookout and stop anyone with his surprise before they had a chance to throw the paper ball away.
I think he was pretty brilliant!

I’m glad there are more of us. I hope we can get others on board. The more there are, the cleaner we can make the world.

While hiking, I bring grocery sacks to carry out trash. In my neighborhood, I am the only person who picks up litter.

Never use baby wipes while hiking and camping. Animals dig them up. Poop-smeared wipes blow across the landscape. It's disgusting.

Dog owners leave poop-filled plastic bags beside the trail. What are they thinking? The "Poop Fairy" will magically clean up after them? Carry it out, you jerks!

I'm not willing to touch poopy wipes or plastic bags. I eat with my hands.

Yeah, some people are nasty. I won't pick up poopy diapers either.

Your idea is really great & it is simple. I do this a lot also. Why wouldn't we want to tidy up our world. Is it the old, "it's not my job"? Or "I didnt put it there" excuse? Let's all pitch in - besides it's good for our waists, if you don't use those picker-uppers. But please remember gloves.
