Do old songs run through your head randomly....?
Right now I'm humming "If I could save time in a bottle..."
What old tune is stuck in your head?
Alabama Song and Back Door Man by the Doors, very often in the last few years.
Every day I listen to a variety of music (without the need for ears) "Time in a bottle" will usually evoke "The sound of silence" (original Simon and Garfunkel version). When in Army basic training, Styx's "Boat on the River" was an escape from the mundane tasks at hand. Often classics such as R. Strauss - An Alpine Symphony, Ludwig van Beethoven or a variety of will create a pleasant backdrop for daily events.
I ALWAYS have some random song playing in my mind. I go to sleep with a song playing and I wake up to a song playing.
I've asked people this question before and they couldn't relate.
I thought I had a few screws loose or something!
Good to hear I'm not alone
Yes they do. It depends, usually triggered by a memory or association to the song. For some reason, it is often Convoy. I don't recall seeing the movie, hate country music, and never wanted to be a long haul trucker.
That's too funny. Perhaps its because those are things you run from! LOL
@shockwaverider Funnier still. I just sat and listened to that entire thing LMAO LMAO
@AxeElf Thanks for sharing, ROTFL.
Croce was great. How about "The sounds of Silence", Midler's "The Rose", Roberta Flack's :The First time I saw your Face" or Don Mclean's "Bye, Bye Miss American Pie"?
And don't forget Diana Ross's: Aint no Mountain High Enough...And I think I know every word of Bye Bye Miss American Pie
Watch "Steppenwolf - Who Needs Ya ( Lyrics )" on YouTube
This song stuck in my head 9 years ago when I was going through my divorce with my second wife...lol.
Well now time in a bottle is stuck in my head.
Hey I GOT CONVOY stuck in mine now haha
The 'old tune' currently stuck in my head is the second movement of Beethoven's Piano Sonata number 17 - the 'Tempest Sonata'.
