It's stupid, but I have to say that it does sometimes. Especially on dating websites. I'm not a stalker and generally am not rude to anyone. But I guess it is a way for people to narrow their view.

What bothers me most are heartfelt emails that are deleted without being read.

Unfortunately, we cannot control what other people will do.
I have completely sworn off dating sites, and have only been here
for community.

I have too much real life stuff going on to care that I've been blocked by random internet fuck #238.

Fucking perfect response!!!!

I'm not concerned with anyone blocking me. To each her/his own I say.
Which is why I have blocked everyone that exhibits traits of orangeism, racism, GOPism, genderism, misogynism and just general stupidism! 😀

If someone blocks me, I've probably been horrible to them. I'm only horrible to horrible people, so I won't lose sleep over it.

I don't care. On Fitness Singles, I get notified when a man views my profile.

Recently when I clicked on the profile of man who had viewed me, he had blocked me. I figure he's a Trumpster who was offended by this sentence in my profile:

"If you are a Trump supporter, hit the back button NOW."

No loss to me.

I support things for Donald Trump but some of them that I support might get me arrested.

@DenoPenno I'd be willing to bet that I support all the same things you do. LOL

If seeing my posts or comments bothers somebody, they should block me. That's what the feature is for!

Yep!

I block freely and I've been blocked by many.
It's a form of thinning the herd to find people with whom you wish to interact.

On other social media sites, you add the people you want.
Here, you subtract the people you don't want.
Basically, it's just math.

I'm just surprised at how easy it is to get blocked... It seems that all you have to do is disagree with someone, and next thing they're blocking you. I don't really lose sleep over it, but I wonder if we're becoming so damn sensitive that we're no longer able to carry on civil discourse in the public square. Which basically means we're going tribal again, and before you know it we'll be attacking our own over the silliest things.

Couldn't give a rat's arse 🙂

I actually prefer it, sorts out the riffraff right from the start and I don't have to listen to them pissing and moaning because they have taken some personal offense to something I have posted, go get stuffed is what I think.
I noticed that there are a few owl people that responded to this post already, owls don't give a hoot.

No, not worth worrying about.

Where's the "I don't give a flying fuck motherfucker & shove it up your asshole" button. That's my answer.

5

I know I'm not everyone's cup of tea... Why would I care about who reads my posts?

I typically block to rid my space of negativity. It works!

I used to wonder what I had done to get blocked. Now I don’t care. There are people I have never interacted with who blocked me. Whatever I guess.

3

Nope, it's how I weed out the weak.

3

I'd like to know simply because of human curiousity.

I only know of one instance where I actually know what made someone block me. Normally I'm left going "Hmm?".. which is not my favorite state of being?

Often I figure they did me a favor.
If they're that precious?? Interacting with them might be a PITA.

3

no seems pointless

3

SHOULD I care ? I think not.

I don't think anyone "should" care. I know I don't.
It's just more of a silly poll asking "DO" you care?

@KKGator exactly

2

It amuse's me most of the time as it's normally them having no reasonable comebacks

2

I could care less if I blocked by a random person. Being blocked someone I have cared about is sometimes hurtful but the way of life. But being blocked from a group without having caused issue irritates me. Moderators should be adult enough to look past their own personal preferences to allow people to interact with others if they are not causing distention with the group.

2

If they can't take me the way I am, it is no bother to me. The only ones I block are scammers. I take the philosophy that everyone has something to teach. Sometimes I like what is being said and sometimes it gives a bad taste in my brain. It does not mean I don`t like someone because they say things I do not care to hear it just means that subject we did not agree on and the information that was presented is mine to digest.

2

Couldn't care less.

2

If it was someone I thought I got along with, or someone I considered reasonable, then I might wonder if it hadn't been a mistake.

2

This may sound like a really stupid question but I’m asking it anyway. How do you know if someone has blocked you ? Do you get a notification? I have never blocked anyone....if they are rude or argumentative I just stop responding to them. There are so many people here and so many posts it would be quite possible to just ignore people you find irritating without having to resort to blocking I would have thought.

If you scroll down a little bit, I answered the same question posed by
@ladyprof70.

Btw, NOT a "stupid question", and some people will let you ignore them. Others won't and make it necessary to block them, just for the peace and quiet. 😉

@KKGator Thank you, I think maybe I was blocked a while back.

@Marionville Their loss, not yours. You post some good stuff.
Don't let it bother you.

@KKGator Not a worry!

2

No, not, pas, nee, na, niet, non, nein.......

Let that drama go! no big deal!!!
