It always amuses me when evangelicals insist that the Bible be taken literally because, even though they may mean it, they never do. If they did, the activity in the attached photo (mine from 1972) would be common; and, not against the law.

Actually the Bible verse says we can handle serpents safely, but doesn't tell people to do it.
The New Testament DOES tell women to wear veils, stay at home, obey their husbands, don't talk in church, and have children.
The Old Testament says to stone to death anyone who picks up anything on Saturday, kids who talk back, that men can sell their daughters into slavery, etc.
