I grew up in the Southern conservative (if not reactionary), patriarchal culture, but a lifetime of learning and of experiences outside that culture has led me to more wisdom. Republican behavior toward women today is nothing short of reprehensible. They claim to cherish women, but have blocked the ERA, attempts to guarantee women equal pay, and current efforts to strengthen penalties for members of Congress to engage in inappropriate sexual behavior toward women. They have attempted to limit women's reproductive rights. And they openly disparage and attack women who speak out on issues or offer honest testimony.

I genuinely hope that that all women are raking note of the arrogantly and stupidly immoral stance of the Republican party and will abandon it in droves. That party no longer deserves the support of any thinking and feeling women.
