Rape is Gods or nature's way to secure that there is procreation......Not that I like or approve of it - but it happens in nature as well......
first of all, there is no god. second of all, rape is not about procreation, or even sex. it's about power. it's about asserting dominance. that is why men rape men, which hasn't got anything to do with homosexuality; it's about power. sex is the tool, not the object.

I'm sorry to see a serious issue trivialised by a circular argument. A person only becomes a rapist after they have committed the crime of rape so the fact they are subsequently a rapist cannot also be the cause (unless you believe in predestination). Good causes should not be tarred with bad logic.
that's silly. rape is caused by the people who rape, not by the victims. the people who rape 1. become rapists as soon as they rape, so that means the rape was caused by a rapist, whether or not he was a rapist beforehand. 2. if this is not the first time he has raped anyone, he's already a rapist. will you argue that one of the other named causes apply? the point was that it's not the victims' fault. it's the rapists' fault, whether or not they were rapists prior to the act in question. the chart doesn't trivialize rape but your argument against the chart does!

@Gareth yes, who is to blame IS an issue. it might not be THE issue. there is more than one issue. but as long as the victims are blamed, there will be no better protection from rape or of existing rape victims. it won't happen because they won't be thought to deserve it. women will continue to be told to prevent rape by not wearing short skirts. women will continue to be attacked if they come forward. women will continue to be disbelieved whether or not they come forward. blame is a BIG BIG BIG issue. this chart is not an exercise in tautology. it makes a valid and important point, and i stand by it.
g
@Gareth no, i'm not doing that. you obviously think i am. it isn't true. i've already explained how it isn't true, and i don't know a better way to explain it. i'm sorry you don't see it. but that is NOT what i am doing, and it's not the point of the chart, which i did not create, by the way. i wish i had. i like it.
g
@genessa Look, let’s point out what we agree on.
Rape is bad.
The victim is not to blame.
OK. It’s simple stuff, but it’s not really saying much. It’s like saying babies should eat. Uh... yeah. Perhaps there are people that think that rape victims are to blame for the act. I don’t know. I’ve never met a human that ever gave me an indication that they thought that way.
@indirect76 i wish it was that simple! some people actually do not believe rape is bad, and do not believe that all babies should eat. even worse, a LOT of people do not believe the victims are not to blame. that last part is the point of the meme. you've never met them. good! i hope you never meet them. i don't know how you have escaped that, though, because they're EVERYWHERE.
g
my analysis: there is no excuse for rape. i don't like generalizations, in general, but there are exceptions. this is one.
