For all my gym rats and workout buddies out there!!
I have an eclectic taste when it comes to my workout music ... I workout early in the morning, and when I do my cardio routine, I want something that will motivate and pump me up, but not scare me ...
I was curious what music you listen to when you workout? What genre, bands, musicians, albums, specific songs you have on repeat, etc. ... I need some inspiration...
Dub step or rave music. Flux Pavilion, Marshmallow, Alan Walker
For lifting usually able to get to that nostril-flaring, rip-snorting on the way to manic-town (not actually in manic-town, just the suburbs) mental state on my own and with a pre-workout. So I don't need music. However if I did want a playlist: Clash, Ramones, early Joe Jackson and Elvis Costello (of course 'Pump it Up!' ), 2nd wave Ska, Gogol Bordello and starting to get into Sturgill Simpson. Never got into heavy metal or any of its derivations.
Something upbeat, Bruno Mars for me at the moment, with a little bit of Guns n Roses, and a bit of Justin Timberlake, with a splash of Macklemore, tiny bit of The Rolling Stones
I'm a rock and roll nerd so songs like communication breakdown by led zepp I find energetic. Rip it up by little Richard I find good for an explosive workout and then status quo with their riffs are really good for a steady pace. In particular I like to listen to what you're proposing and Caroline.
@evestrat yeah, give it a go, I apply music to just about anything I do in my day to day life, I have specific music for times of day, mood, driving, the one time I am musicless is if I am in nature, on a walk through the forests and across beaches, I love the music of nature. Oh and obviously being a pirate I have the Pirates of the Carribean theme playing everywhere I go.
The right music is a great motivator, thrash metal while driving can motorvate the right foot a little too much! Oh and either the PoC theme or this one.
