I’ve seen a few leaves falling but not a lot of color. It’s still freaking hot here. 91 degrees yesterday. Beautiful pictures everyone!
yay! orange is my fave colour too, & as we're getting into spring here i'll have to grab a coupla older autumn pics. here ye go:
Fall is actually the time of year that I get into looking up classical music. Nothing says "life is awesome" as you look out a window to a multi-colored tapestry in the trees as soft piano music plays from your computer
The beautiful Cascade Mountains of Washington State:
Chatter Creek trail, Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area. September 2016.
Golden Week in the High Cascades- In the fall, Northern Larch tree needles turn blazing gold before falling. Schaefer Lake, 6,000 feet. October 12, 2015.
Mountain Ash berries, Pacific Crest Trail. October 2017.
Golden Larch at Lake Clara, 6,000 feet. October 2015
The photos are not edited. I just cropped to simplify the composition.
I use a lightweight, Sony digital camera (see photo).
With a slight hand tremor, I don't use my smartphone for pictures. I'd get 50 photos with one button press! My Sony camera has motion-correct.
Thank you!
I'll get back to you in six months when it's autumn in the southern hemisphere
I'm in Florida where our fall foliage is the same as our summer foliage, just not as much on fire.
@Donotbelieve It's true, you can definitely miss the seasonal changes without missing driving in the snow.
Fall lasts like 3 minutes where I am. We have summer, half a day of fall, then winter..
Give me autumn at any time and I'm happy. It's not only a better temperature, it reminds me of the happiest moments growing up. Here's a pic from the internet of the area I'm from, conceivably from my ancestral farm home. Something people don't realize is that, in NW PA, it's all grape vineyards. When fall hits, the smell of them ripe on the vines overwhelms the entire area. It even smells better when they dump the unusable ones at the end of the rows to be fertilizer for the following years...they tend to ferment, and it's amazing.
That's an awesome pic...
we havent quite got to autumn yet youre ahead of the game here
@Donotbelieve 'I get it ,but my garden doesnt'! Maybe because our our housing complex is in an ancient walled enclosure built by the man who built the whole town Hugh Boyd I think and so fairly protected from the elements we do get lots of animals wandering around - cats hedgehogs foxes etc. I'd love a badger I don't know why but I have never really been up close to one.
I'm with you! I love autumn. It just goes by too quickly
