Stupid shit like this makes my blood boil!

  1. Why the fuck is this considered newsworthy?
  2. I'm guessing this hyper religious deputy posted religious crap all the time, so posting a prayer two days before being shot at work was hardly "profound and prophetic."
  3. Saying ridiculous stuff like "god is in control" and "god is so good" is just another way of saying "I'm a thoughtless asshole who deserves to be punched in the throat." It's an absolute slap in the face to the friends and family of the officer who was killed. Fuck them all. Hard. With a rusty fireplace poker.

Religious people aren't particularly bright, studies show. They are exceptionally gullible, ready to believe anything.

We are our own gods, but that's too much work/responsibility for many, apparently.

In what way do you mean that we are gods?

@Heraclitus Physics indicates that we are participating in creating our own universes/reality.

“Consciousness is fundamental, and matter is derived from consciousness." – Max Planck, theoretical physicist who originated quantum theory, 1918 Nobel Prize in Physics

Quote:

“The stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter, we ought rather hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter..

A fundamental conclusion of the new physics acknowledges that the observer creates the reality. As observers, we are personally involved with the creation of our own reality. Physicists are being forced to admit that the universe is a “mental” construction."

– R.C. Henry, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University

Damn, you seem deeply moved. Breathe brother.

I'm female but appreciate the sentiment nonetheless.
