Sometimes i see questions here about "do atheists [do this or that] or [believe this or that]. i understand the curiosity behind all that, but seriously, atheism isn't a religion, much less an organized one with rules about what we do or don't do, do or don't believe. do atheists chew gum? get cancer? live to be 100? wear black? like coffee? bake cookies? yes, no, maybe! there is only one thing you have to do to be an atheist, just as there is only one thing you have to do to be a bicyclist. to be a bicyclist you have to ride a bicycle. you don't have to believe this or that, do that or the other, because the definition of a bicyclist is someone who rides a bicycle. the definition of an atheist is someone who either doesn't believe in any gods or believes that there are no gods. that's all.
