Does anyone out there listen to NPR?
I do, it's one of my mother's favorite things to listen to in the car, I don't care for the two car guys though. Show is too old!
Car Talk is my favorite thing on the radio. I'm old too though.
Me nither! I thought it must be me...
Like @Fearlessfreep, my NPR listening has decreased with the constant trump coverage. But, if I'm not listening to a podcast, I turn to NPR until they obsess on him again.
Before trump, I listened all the time and have always loved it.
Two things I'm not liking lately -- One, the commercials are getting more and more commercialized and longer. Two, there is a host in the afternoons who has a nasally voice and pronounces words funny (i.e. Edwards is clearly said as ETwards. Many words like that.) and she pronounces some of our local towns wrong. Kills me.
Still a fan generally!
I often listen to audio books these days.
@Fearlessfreep I also have a backlog of those!
I love, "WAIT, WAIT"!!
Me too! My favorite! I saw it live this past year and it was great!
Love my NPR. All I listen too.
Me too. No music, just NPR. Both local stations.
I support the local station(KMUW) and I used to listen all the time but post Trump I've not listened much.
Trump is ruining everything. sigh
I love public radio! I listen to local station MPR (Minnesota), but they include a lot of content from NPR too.
Nothing beats Radio Lab programs!!
Radio Lab is awesome. Also the Moth Radio Hour!
Number one on my presets...and I play NPR in my studio while working.
I miss Garrison Keillor and Car talk!!! All good things must pass. My regional NPR has stopped the Friday and Saturday night jazz programs I am pissed.
I miss Diane Rehm. I still listen to her podcasts.
Prairie Home Companion is still alive and well. The new guy is Chris. Totally different, but good. Give him a chance to grow on you. He is certainly a better singer. I don't mean to bash Garrison. I listened to him all the way back in my teens. But the show goes on!
@MikeInBatonRouge Chris Thile is an amazing mandolin artist. I have one of his first CD's 'Not All Who Wander Are Not Lost". He was in a blue grass band , Nickle Creek for a while - Yeah, I need to tune in. Thanks for reminding me of the new direction of show.
Funny, we still have Saturday night jazz...I get so mad, 'cause I dislike it and here it is on until midnight! Lol
Yep. I sure miss the car guys. Love the puzzles and quiz shows on the weekend.
I don't listen in my car on weekends, but I subscribe to the Wait Wait Don't Tell Me podcast so I don't miss any of them!
@AviatorJim -- I was devastated when Tom Magliozzi of the Car Guys died. That's not a show where reruns would be worth much, but they were great.
I love NPR. it's all I listen to in the workshop.
I listen to NPR almost exclusively in the car.
I almost forgot about Tiny Desk Concert! Although most of that I've watched on YouTube. I've discovered a number of musicians I love!
Here! Chris Thiele (sp?) is doing a helluva job with "Live From Here", f.k.a. " A Prairie Home Companion.". I never thought I could so well like the next incarnation of that show. I like all the news, Living on Earth, the Bioneers, Philosophy Talk, Quirks and Quarks, even To Your Health with Zorba Pastor. From the Top has a special place in my heart as a former adolescent musician. There's little of which I am not fond. Bruce Adolph's Piano Puzzler is a delight. Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and Says You are my favorites. Car Talk will never be matched.
Used to... I don't radio anymore either.
Listen to NPR all the time...when I am not on my phone wifi! Lol
