Itβs Getting Harder to Talk About God
The decline in our spiritual vocabulary has many real-world consequences.

FYI there is a paywall!
Interesting report. There was a recent item in the Atlantic Monthly about a Christian who felt as this guy but he became so disallusioned about his faith he quit and then some lights went off. I just read a similar item in the latest Freedom From Religion Foundation newsletter and will try to remember to post it tomorrow.
I'm not sure I see this as a problem. I don't talk about God so I have no use for the current lingo nor do I care that Christians aren't talking about it either. I do care, as the article points out, that those who are misusing the language to push non religious agendas are hogging the microphone but I don't need to use spiritual language in order to counter their arguments. I can use humanistic language that demonstrates empathy and compassion are enough of a motivation to do the right thing.
