Similar to the notion that has it.. " If you don't love yourself, you can't honestly love another." I feel that if I'm not interesting to me I will not be interesting to another.
After almost two decades of living to work and survive, to hunt and gather for my family obligations and in general allowing the rim of my rut to become the edge of my horizon. I have purposely set out to make ME interesting to ME again.
My question.. what do you do to make YOU interesting to YOU?
I have always thought that was bullshit. The people l have known who love themselves have been narcissists. I like my self most of the time, and l except myself, but l don't love myself, and it certainly hasn't stopped me from loving others.
Well In fairness he asked what you do to make yourself interesting... You know, like stop spending energy on trying to match socks, going to music festivals, taking cooking classes.... I understand this. for the first time in my life I'm doing some of these things. before this everything was done out of obligation or for somebody else - children, spouses, coworkers, bosses, friends. It amazes me how much music I listened to because someone else liked it and how different my music Adventure is now that it's about my own interest!
@SukiSue I just be me. Some folks will find me interesting some won't. I don't try to do anything. I find you interesting because of the way l see you treat others on this site. Your humour and sweetness make you interesting to me. I don't believe you try doing being thet way. That is who you are.
@SukiSue I think that is just human nature. Some days you feel on top of your game and some days you don't. On a not so good day, you can have a conversation with someone like yourself and that will make you feel better about yourself. People all over this site are crazy about you. Your innate sweetness draws people to you, even in this black and white format. That is a special thing.
Engage with people in interesting conversations. it gets my brain and juices flowing and gives me a sense of satisfaction and worthiness.
I don't believe either statement has any basis in truth or reality & they make things more difficult for no reason anyway. The stuff that makes me interesting to me is pretty boring or weird to most other people... I have way too many hobbies & interests for the time & energy I have available. Chickens, goats, sewing, plants, reading, picking up colorful rocks--are you bored yet?
Yup.
