five here. i have upgraded a couple times since then lol.

g

That was the toughest phone I've seen.

@JimG i don't know why people diss flip phones. maybe they don't mind the occasional pocket dialing! flips never did that.

g

@genessa no, but I think the smaller screen is the issue now. Before smart phones, I loved the little folders.

@JimG ha -- for me, ANY phone' screen is too small for anything but, say, unique idea, but stay with me here, making and receiving phone calls. that's why god... wait, um, that's why ibm or whoever invented laptops!

g

@genessa this is much more convenient. My laptop is just for Netflix and Hulu now.

@JimG well my eyes are bad, my fingers not built for a phone, and my mobility such that a laptop is perfectly convenient to me. i don't get around much lol.

g

@genessa I understand. In my case the phone is with me and on usually. It's much faster than getting the laptop, powering it up, and logging on. My work laptop is never powered down for more than 5 or 10 minutes though.

@JimG my home laptop functions more or less as a desktop. thrice a week, when i am not sick (meaning not these past two weeks, as i AM sick) i have been unplugging it and carrying it in a bag to the adult daycare where my alzheimer's-afflicted guy goes and would not regularly go without me (he didn't want to go today because i couldn't go). i got a second laptop and now i just keep it in my bag and plug it in when i get there it's not urgent that it boot up immediately and i have my phone with me. i'm the vj there so i WANT it to boot up fast but no one will die from waiting for it. it's not as if i have a job and need to be productive, though sometimes i am anyway. i always have a whole lot of tabs up. as i type, here at home, i have (counting) about 60 tabs open. i really need to close some of those. not this one, of course.

Numero uno.

Not there. Mine was way before number 1. With a carry case the size of of a small planet.

I didn't get one until my sister got one for me. Still pays for it too. I hate being tethered, but it has come in handy in the car. I have turned off the ringer. I am on the third phone, and that is about all I can tell you.

None of the above. Big, Ugly Bag Phone. Then years later, number 3

I think mine was #6. I was out for the day and the kids got sick at school. I couldn't be reached so their dad was called. When I finally got home their dad was LIVID that I could dare be out of touch so long!!! I got a cell phone the next week, and started to refer to it as my leash. So, we were living in Washington state, I'm guessing it was 1996 or 1997.

No. 18. I was late getting onto the cell phone bandwagon.

@Sheannutt I told people that I didn't want to be disturbed by calls when I'm not at home. Now, I freak out if I don't have my cell with me at all times. It's my only phone now (other than the wireless home phone lines for my business).

Mine was 7. I loved 14. That was probably my favorite phone of all time.

I wasn't really interested until the screen was big enough to play video ??

I think it was either 6 or 7, I can't tell for sure. It was a Nokia.

  1. That thing was indestructible. I broke 3 antennas off of it, but never even scratched the phone.

Some of my friends who are more into it than me have suggested using a different cable. I think the main problem is in the case. I feel like this is an accessory meant to help keep up your phone in good shape, not a thing on which all of your other accessories have to depend, and I am sure that if the case doesn't allow you to use all of the accessories you need than it is a big problem for you. I have my case from [caseface.ie], and I never broke anything. I also have it, customer, the way I like, and it supports all of the cables I have in my house, so I suggest you change your case, not the cable.

The one with no cord. However my trump supporter brother tripped over the cordless phone cord. go figure huh
