Are there more members here who follow the Childfree way of living (which obviously also means Pet-free)?
Childfree and pet-free here. Nothing against pets per se, but because I'm single and looking for a spouse, I strongly feel that this is a decision that needs to be made by the two people who share the expenses and responsibility. To my mind, it's the height of rudeness to assume that your pet comes part and parcel. Some people are not pet people.
I wouldn't mind one indoor-outdoor cat, maybe; am allergic to dogs, so that's out of the question.
what is obvious to you certainly is not obvious to me. the fact that i do not choose to procreate has nothing to do with whether or not i choose to share my life with other species. i am child-free and live with the most wonderful cats and dog. my reasons for being child-free have no bearing on my petful lifestyle.

"Childfree" DOES NOT equal "pet free".
Non-human Earthlings are actually far superior housemates than human crotchlings.
Yes! Absolutely!
Childfree way of living. hmmmm..One thing for sure, if everyone did that we wouldn't be here for long
Meh. That won't happen. However, more people could stand to not have children. The population needs to slow down a bit.
This is a good question that would have been more interesting posted as a POLL but under the category of Family & Parenting. . . I am guessing there may be a bias. . . .
I'm also wondering why it obviously means pet-free. Is it because people are increasingly referring to their pets as 'furbabies?' I mean, I love my cat, but he's a cat, not a child.
