This will be my first post here, and it is very difficult to write, as silly as that may seem. I suppose it is not helped when I have been very honest here on my profile regarding things that I normally am not particularly forward with. Hello massive anxiety.
I have received a warm reception from the welcome committee volunteers. Very friendly and helpful. Taking the time to say hello, ECT. to newbies is a really an awesome thing to do. It is strange and somewhat scary to be in a place where I do not have to hide behind a mask. The kindness is very much appreciated.
I hope to maybe get to know a few people better, or at least branch out a little bit socially. It is a rare pleasure to be able to share thoughts with others, unconcerned of the repercussions of honesty.
To anyone who reads this, if you should feel so inclined, please feel free to say hello or whatever else you may wish to say.
Thank you to all who take the time to read this.
(The response to this post has been massive!!! Thank each and everyone of you who have taken the time to say hello and such. I appreciate all of you for taking the time to do it. It is really nice to have seemingly been so warmly embraced by everyone. I want to apologize to anyone I do not personally respond to. I am going to try and give each and every person the thank you they deserve, but if I miss you, or it takes awhile, please have no doubt that your response is very much appreciated. This place has gotten off to a really awesome start. Thank you all again!!!"
Although there are many words posted here about religion, and it's splendors, it is best to think of this place as just as usual as anywhere, but with one less stupidity pervading the air.
Non-belief does not translate directly into reasonableness. But, I do find non-believers are more willing to engage on any topic. This does not mean they will be informed, or swayable.
There are members that have never thought any religiousness exists, and some who are newly re-born looking for support.
So, engage in the exploration of imaginary, all powerful, petulant shits, if you are so inclined. And, enjoy the conversations that ne're touch upon the topics of such. I do both.
This place is better than the FB places.
Welcome. You seem kind and sensitive. There are some good people here. Some outspoken, but still very good. I'd suggest also exploring the groups on here, you may find good stuff there as well.
Yes, some outspoken and for the most part respectful of other thoughts and opinions!
I received a negative critique from a member initially about my bio. I do not get upset if someone expresses criticism about me. This time it bothered me and I forgot how I normally handle moments, which is to say that the person does not have to agree with my positions or what I may write because they are welcome not to read it. You cannot please everybody, worry about your opinion of yourself.
I would say that you made a ‘grand entrance!’ I want to welcome you, and look forward to your posts! It is a good feeling to find out, that our ideas are acceptable and not so ‘far out,’ after all.
Welcome along. I noticed a comment welcoming you along to the dark side, I share that sort of humour as to a lot of people we are on the dark side but perhaps it's not the light side either, remember in Poltergeist, going to the light was a bad thing! Perhaps we're on the enlightened side?
Anyways, have fun and see you out there/here
Welcome to the community. As you can already see, there are a lot of nice, intelligent nonbelievers here (and a few believers too). =]
@SeptemberRain Me too! =]
Hello, and welcome... I'm pretty new here too and have, so far, been happy with my stay. Big hugs!?⚘?
Good for you in reaching out. It sounds like you've had some real intense experiences with people not accepting that you don't follow claims about the supernatural. We've mostly all been there. So, be yourself and welcome.
I read your profile and there's much in common with me. I am new on this site too. Welcome to the group.
It is long but I read it you are wonderful!
