I see mystery in historical buildings, especially around Halloween. This bed and breakfast is over 150 years old in beautiful Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia.
It's called the Queen Anne Inn.
The first settlement in Canada was in this town called Port Royal in 1606. It was a shipbuilding town when the Inn was built.
What an interesting building! I love it!
I like the character in the architecture.
150 years isn't old...there are houses near me that were built in the 14th century
Wow! the old world is the oldest no doubt. I would love to see that part of the world someday.
Beautiful architecture and so well maintained. Lovely to see.
Thank you, I agree.
Beautiful building and part of your history....important to preserve. My own home was built in 1820 and will be 200 years old in two years time! Take a look at it on my profile page.
Nice place. How many fireplaces do you have? It looks very well maintained.
@flower_nut There are two, both downstairs, but before we bought the house in 1984 it had been renovated and the kitchen range had been taken out and also an upstairs fireplace. The house is now heated by oil central heating, but in the winter I can light a fire in either of the downstairs rooms. It was originally a farmhouse and had quite an acreage of land around it, by the time we bought it most of the land had been sold off and we just have a one acre field in which a neighbouring farmer grazes sheep.
You got me beat, Blackburn Catherdral was built in the 11th century. (These north Americans are playing at ancient )
Yup, that's a winner. Great work of art. Thank you for sharing.
Very nice! I especially love the windows over the door. Buildings like that require a lot of maintenance.
Vinyl siding with wood shingles around the top. In the right side of the photo is a βman-liftβ used for maintenance of some kind. You're right with the amount of maintenance required to make it look this good.
