4th night shift and the shit has hit the fan! Too many sick people for the amount of staff we have. We are dangerously thinned out and it is fucking scary!
Were you working this weekend with the clock changes? For me, it wasn't bad - being zero hours I got an extra paid hour in bed - fortunately no wake up calls for emergencies, but the poor lass who was waking duty worked from 13:00 Saturday until 08:00 Sunday, finding out about the "stupid ficking time change" when she came on duty with me.
Why the shortage of staff?
My daughter has been applying for work in NHS Scotland for the past eight months, but there some posts she went for that still have her on the waiting to processed pile. Do you have this madness in recruitment in wales too?
As a support worker myself, we are also short of staff. Just can't seem to find suitable applicants to work within the field of autism. Sometimes they burn out inside of a single shift!
