Recently I had to send my beautiful cat, Appollo, to the Rainbow Bridge. I'm still crying. However today I adopted Finn and Fiona from the shelter. They are six months old and are siblings. Now the fun begins. Cats and dogs make me happy.
I am so sorry for your loss.
A year ago November I sent my old girl to the Rainbow Bridge. She was 16 and my heart cat.
In February last year I adopted Xena, she's two now. Last month I adopted Zelda, she's about 6 months. I love my furgirls. It has been "interesting" at my house ever since the baby joined us....
They are,beautiful.
Sorry for your loss. I lost my cat Layla 2 years ago and I still miss her everyday.
I have my 2 boys (Carter and Harley) that keep me busy though. Harley was recently diagnosed with diabetes but I think we’re getting it under control. If I had more room, time, and money then I would definitely have more fur babies.
It is a great shock to have what amounts to member of the family pass away. and good on you for admitting that you cried, Likewise ! I am a widower and value the companionship of the most lovable of animals, the cat. The best thing to do is what you have done, replace your lost cat with another one. My best wishes to you with your new family.
So sorry for your loss I have had cats all my life and it's always horrible when they die. I'm glad you adopted two more kitties from the shelter, though. I adopted a sibling pair, Claude and Renesmee, when they were babies. Now they're 7 years old and they still play-fight like kittens.
Heartfelt condolences for loss of your kitty. This never gets easier, no matter how many times one goes through it ...
And a joyous welcome to your new pair !!
And a hearty thank you, for rescuing them from a shelter !
You're right, the loss never gets easier. In fact, I think it's just the opposite, at least for me.
So sorry for your loss. And glad you are ready to open your home to more kittens. They do go best in pairs!
I'm so happy and sad for you. If you haven't yet posted pictures of Apollo and his heirs, please do! Contrary to the belief of some there's no where near enough pictures of kittehs on the internet.
You take good care of Finn and Fiona, and they will take good care of you. My old fat cat is getting ready to go too, and I am definitely not looking forward to that.
My Sidney went over the Rainbow Bridge over a year ago. I still haven't been able to get a new baby yet.
This is Appollo. He belonged to my best friend who passed and I was fortunate enough to inherit him. He is gone now but I still have Willy, Precious Puss and now I have Finn and Fiona who are in a safe room in my home with a screen door. They spent the night having fun. This morning I found papers from my desk in their litter box...hahaha. I saw and was able to pet Fiona this morning, but big brother Finn is hiding under the chair. I put soft music on for them (smile). The things we do for our pets. Thank you all for your kind thoughts.
You are wiser than most, to replace your beloved pet with young ones.
In my case, my heart was so broken after pets died of old age, I wouldn't replace them, to avoid more pain.
I still cry when I think of them.
Do you have a pet now? I have found over the years that even though it almost kills me to lose one, I find so much joy in having them around. My heart goes out to you. Maybe you will let another one find you.
@IAmLove Right now I'm living in an apartment, where no pets are allowed, and when I did sneak an Asian Fairy-bluebird in as a pet, I had to sell him because I'm supposed to be leaving Thailand soon.
Sympathies for your loss, but thank you for taking in two shelter pets! I hope your days are filled with fun and love as they keep you on your toes. After 6 months I'd think they're quite the team.
I am sorry Apollo is not longer with us....and I congratulate you for giving your love and protection to Fin and Fiona; I know Apollo is happy you adopted them.
I lost Amadeus, my wonderful Russian Blue....He was with me 21 years; I miss him dearly.
