Just thinking how research says those that believe in and worship god get dopamine hits to the brain. So why can't atheists get this from thoughts of like space or something? I would love some dopamine.

I am not a scientist but I think this has something to do with the security that religion offers people. Takes the stress out of every day living by moving the responsibility to something or someone other than themselves .

Pretty sure I experience it during the schadenfreude that comes from learning about Christians encountering reality and what the universe honestly thinks of their spiritual convictions

Yes, pass the dopamine, please.

Theists give up all responsibility for their actions. Therefore, they are not burdened with the anxiety of accountability and can revel in euphoria. They don't have to worry about anything, despite the fact they are the cause of everybody elses pain and discomfort.

Atheists do not have that luxury. We know we are the conductor of own lives. Dont give over our responsiblity.
