Business as usual. Wake me up when the Democratic Party stands for something.

...you mean The House.. Finally, a check on runaway greed! ...and maybe some investigations. The House, and Tip O’Neill kept Reagan in check. Handing ‘everything’ over to the party of religion, war & greed was as dumb as it gets...

When the Democrats last ‘had everything’ (including a 60% majority in the Senate), we got a path to health care! With the filthy Republicans (breaking Senate rules in order to need only 50%) - they nearly killed health care… I can not think of a more striking difference, or need ~

The ACA is also runaway greed. Obamacare is a Republican-devised mandate to buy private insurance which still leaves millions uninsured. Just look at Obama’s donors and you’ll see why he decided to keep a for-profit, rapacious middle man between patient and doctor.

@Marz ...and if you’re certain of that.. you should also know Obama was old enough to have witnessed what happened to the Democrats after Hillary Clinton proposed a ‘European style’ health care for all plan.. The Filthy R’s and their Corporate backers sunk it, even running ads against it.

So, Obama proposed to both, the filthy R’s & their corporate backers, ‘Romneycare,’ a compromise. It worked … heading toward a national single payer plan .. ten to a dozen years out. What did the filthy R’s and their radical racist contingent do? - fight to kill it! ..telling ignorant America how they had a replacement plan.

Don’t know how politically astute you feel, but Obama was light years ahead of you, Hillary too.. And if the ACA is ‘a republican plan,’ what’s been the republican’s motivation for killing it? Answer: it was going to lead us to ‘universal health care’ and a ‘single-payer system’ … no more mega-profits for the US Healthcare Industry.

They won't get the Senate. Even the House isn't a sure thing.

My guess is tRump will completely unravel.

Good possibility that it will be legislative hell. Republicans will have about 40 to 45 days to screw the country over before it’s new Congress are voted in in early 2019.

VOTE Republicans Out of Office!

With a Democrat majority, we will resist Trump and Republican goals to gut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid for tax cuts for the very wealthy.

Hopefully, we'll get progress on education, protecting the environment, health care, immigration, civil rights, and reasonable gun control.

This may have to wait until after the 2020 presidential election.

A girl can dream.

Well now, and to think girls used to dream about their prince coming to wake them up with a kiss!

...we’ve enough immigration ..and civil rights can become ‘voting rights,’ but I gave your dreams a thumbs up anyway 🙂

@Shefree Well OK but you must admit you girls are not alone in wishing for good partners.

And what about the frustration of half the population if they don't? The main driving force seems to be the metoo movement but I'm not certain that is enough to win. Perhaps there is an undercurrent eager for change that is not being shown in the media but who knows! One side has to lose and how will they deal with it?

@DonCoryon No, I'm not saying that at all.

@DonCoryon Let me call you ‘Exhibit H,’ with regard to the guys I’ve met and witnessed voting for trump or his minions due to their fear of female domination. Some don’t believe ‘that’s a thing,’ but they’re mainly women..

the ones who lose will suffer dreadfully because their medicare and social security will be protected, they won't lose their health insurance after all, their farms will begin to be profitable again because the tariffs will be reversed, and maybe we can even get trump and pence impeached (after january), which means we'll have a president who doesn't snuggle up to dictators and alienate our best allies. what a horrible fate. i feel so sorry for the losers.

@genessa Gosh, it sounds like a return to the promised land! Now I'm struggling to remember why so many people voted for a change from this paradise.

@brentan seriously? no, it sounds like incredibly hard work. as for why people voted for a change (and with an obstructive republican congress it was HARDLY paradise) they DIDN'T. almost three million more people voted for clinton than voted for trump. no wonder you can't remember.

g

@genessa It gets curiouser and curiouser (more curious, even) So the reason people voted for Trump was because the Democratic government was stymied by the right. Recognising this, the voters knew they had to vote for those who stymied the government. They knew the right had ruined their Democratic paradise so they decided to vote the right in so that they could really destroy it. Gosh, I remember it and I wasn't even there!

@brentan okay you seem to have missed the part where hillary clinton had almost three million more votes than trump. so the people, as a whole, did NOT vote for trump. so you are trying to explain why something happened when in fact it didn't happen.

g

@brentan in addition, from your comments, i well believe you remember stuff you weren't there for, especially stuff that didn't happen. your sarcastic tone would work better if you were actually saying something true and/or useful.

g

@genessa Yes, but it's all very subjective, isn't it, and you carry on like you were handing out gospel truth.

@brentan no, i am not the one carrying on, and your assessment it tantamount to projection. but i really don't know why i should continue talking to you. snerts are so unappealing. goodbye.
