I'm always open to book suggestions. I'll read pretty much anything as long as it's well written and holds my interest.
I just finished reading The Hobbit to my 9 year old. We started reading The Lord of the Rings shortly after.
a lot of my favorite books are out of print, such as how to suppress women's writing by joanna russ, and harpo speaks by harpo marx. however, one can still find cancer ward by aleksandr solzhenitysn, davita's harp by chaim potok, and the once and future king by t.h. white, to name a tiny selection. randomly from the top of my head i also recommend i claudius and claudius the king, both by robert graves; anything you can get your hands on by barbara tuchman because she has written no bad books whatsoever; the war against the jews by lucy davidowicz, whose name i have probably misspelled; both books by t.e. lawrence -- one of them is the seven pillars of wisdom and i forget what the other one is; the seed and the sower by laurens van der post; oh, if you respond to this maybe i'll come back and name some more!
