Circumcision.
I know that I'm going to start a shit storm (or piss storm) depending on your outlook, by starting this discussion.
Why is it still ok, in our society, to sexually mutilate male babies.
Lately there has been a very strong outcry against "Female Genital Mutilation" by outsiders who believe that women in some Muslim and African countries are being systematically sexually abused.
The difference between the two is that the women who are being "circumcised" are not babies. The majority are young girls who (with their families) have made the choice for social, or religious reasons, to undergo this procedure.
Now, understand me, I do not condone these acts of sexual mutilation on either boy or girls. My point is that neither should be subject to this sort of abuse.
There are no legitimate reasons to sexually mutilate boys or girls. If either one decides at some point in their lives to have a "circumcision", then let them make the choice. Once it's done there's no going back!
Unfortunately (mostly in Jewish communities, and in most of the United States) these mutations are still being performed for no legitimate reason.
I imagine that at one time, when you only got to wash up maybe once a month, that not having a forskin my have been beneficial, but not in this day and age!
And I know that some women believe that an "uncut" cock is unclean, but a woman has a lot more going on down there than a guy and still manages to keep herself clean. It's not that hard!
I mean for crying out loud, if you have dirt underneath your fingernails, you don't cut your fingernails off!!
As a nursing student at Wichita State I had to observe and assist a newborn circumcision. Of everything I’ve been a witness to in 40 years that baby screaming while being held down with straps was the most gruesome horror in my 40 year nursing career memory. Only a sociopath would do that for a lifetime and of course they do it with the mom absent the bludgeoning of her baby.
I can still see the sheer terror and red pained screaming howling face of that baby. I told the little napoleon chief of pediatrics right then and there, “Something is wrong with you and this hospital and culture that does this to newborn infants.” M.D. deities like a Doctor Nelson don’t take well to criticism by 19 year old nursing students.
I have no preference as a woman, but I do think it's cruel and unnecessary. If I had a son I wouldn't have it done.
I'm all for it, because the only thing I want to peel and eat is a banana.
Maybe you would like someone else to make a decision to remove a part of your body (while you're a baby) without your approval, but I think it's disturbing.
I was lucky enough to have parents who decided not to follow a pointless trend.
I remain intact and believe me, there are multiple sensitive nerves in the forskin that those unfortunate baby boys (who are now men) will never benefit from.
Please don't joke about such a serious subject!
i have no dog in this race. i am a woman and i have never had kids, male or female. when i first became aware of this controversy i did some research and this is what i found: there is no consensus on whether there are direct health benefits (or detriments) to circumcision, but most people who are not coming from a base of anger admit there are cleanliness benefits. i have seen no indication that circumcism impairs the man's ability to feel sexual pleasure. i have been intimate with circumcized and uncircumcized men and can offer my observation (and the testimony of my partners) that there is no impairment.
female circumcism DOES impair the ability of the circumcizee to feel sexual pleasure, and is not even ostensibly done for reasons concerning health or cleaniliness; the only reason ever given has to do with men controlling women.
i don't think what i am offering constitutes a shitstorm.

I want to read your books. What software do you write within. I am an atheist living in the south. I want to write about 30 years of dumb. What software should I buy.?

@Sunsetmermaid i use libre office, which is a free download. i write articles and essays, stories and poems, do not have a published novel yet. i am working on a novel and a short story collection. oh yeah i have a finished screenplay but no one has purchased it so it's not been made into a movie. i am actually quite well published, but quite poorly paid lol.

It's quite obvious to most intelligent minds that a man who was "cut" as a baby would have no idea what amount of sensitivity was lost when his penis was mutilated after birth.
Your comments seem to suggest that you believe it's perfectly alright to mutilate baby boys, but that mutilation of women is a "men controlling women" issue.
As I said before, I think that circumcision is sexual abuse for either sex and should be outlawed!
As far as cleanliness, are you suggesting that a man is incapable of washing his penis while showering or bathing. I guarantee that it is infinitely easier for a man to wash his genitals than it is for a woman.
You'll probably never see an add for "Vagisil" or duche's for men.?
@Trisexual obvious to intelligent minds. yes, okay, anyone who disagrees with you must not have an intelligent mind. i know what's obvious. you don't want discussion. you want support. fine. i am glad you're capable of washing your own penis, and of course you were born an adult so it was never an issue. i was so worried.

@genessa I didn't think that you were disagreeing with me. And the "intelligent mind" comment was not directed at you, but maybe (you) should stay away from subjects that you have no comprehension about or compassion for.
Removing genital parts from baby boys (or girls) is seriously wrong. It's nothing to joke about.
I would expect more from an intelligent woman such as yourself.
