Have you ever stopped to consider…?
• We live on a planet that is spherical in nature.
• Our Earth spins at a speed just over 1,000 miles per hour.
• It takes it 23 hours 56 minutes 04.09053 seconds to make one complete rotation.
• Earth orbits the sun at a velocity of 67,000 miles per hour, taking about 365 days to complete a single orbit.
Do you feel like you’re going in circles?
... ... ... But at least you’re going really fast.
Who hasn't considered this? I wanted to be a astrophysicist when I was a kid.
Add to that, that we are located in one of the arms (Orion) of a spiral galaxy the is movíng at over a million miles per hour.
If you trace out the path of earths travel in space, what you get are spirals not circles.
Reminds me of the Dave Letterman quote "we're hopelessly lost, but we're making good time!".
We took it out for a spin, and it kept on spinning.
Whenever life gets you down, Mrs. Brown,
And things seem hard or tough,
And people are stupid, obnoxious or daft,
And you feel that you've had quite eno-o-o-o-o-ough,
Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at 900 miles an hour.
It's orbiting at 19 miles a second, so it's reckoned,
The sun that is the source of all our power...
Ahh The Circular Theory.
When I'm old, with dementia, I will regress to my child-like ways, and crawl back into the womb; completing my circular life.
Sounds like a night on very nice brandy!
Tequila more likely.
But wait, I thought it was FLAT!! You mean....
And the sun is rotating around the center of the galaxy, taking all of us along for the ride.
Embrace the circle.
At about 18 miles per second if I remember it right.
