How I spent my Veterans Day-
Meet USAF Sgt Wadis Ponds, Army Pvt Maurice Jones, Army Pfc Dale Thomas, and Army Pvt Tim Camp.
On my way to get lunch before work, I decided to stop by a homeless shelter. They weren’t doing anything for Veterans Day, so I walked around until I found enough vets to fill up the empty space in my car and took them to Buffalo Wild Wings. We all got our meals for free, and I bought them all a round of beers. We even decided to go see Overlord afterwards. A woman at the theater was kind enough to take a picture of us there, and I printed out an 8x10 for all of us and cheap frames to keep them in.
Pretty amazing to hear their stories, and see these men that were at some point in their lives willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for all of us... living in a homeless shelter. All great guys. All old enough to be my dad. All forgotten by most, but are no different than me.
It was definitely a pleasure to make Veterans Day a little better for these gentleman, and it definitely made my day better to make a few new friends.
We can all learn from you. That is what I call a trueeap of faith rewarded.
