Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.One of my lead hands was a Mohawk Iron Worker, he fell 4 stories and landed on the cab of a dump truck when he was 18, spent 4 months in hospital (2 weeks less than the dump truck driver who was also injured when he landed on top of the guy). Lyndsey was never good at heights after that so his dad who was also a high steel man put the word out so nobody would hire him, my gain as I only built mid-rise projects so no problem. Lyndsey did have one fall on one of my jobs but it wasn't his fault, a spring board broke loose and the wall gave out underneath him, I put him on sick pay for two weeks and he came back to work after only a couple of days because he said his old lady was driving him crazy being stuck at home and he was worried he might have to shoot her, in fairness she was a wild woman but then so was Lyndsey.

im sure some of the iron workers were crazy lol not all though...
@AmmaRE007 Last I saw Lyndsey he was dealing with the RCMP on an illegal weapons charge, he had a fight with his wife and she walked out, so he started drinking and when Jay Leno came on he didn't find him very funny so he shot the TV set with a 44 Magnum. The TV set didn't slow the bullet down one bit, nor did the window behind it but the neighbours car across the street stopped the bullet and it set off the car alarm. The problem was that Lyndsey had a lifetime ban on owning firearms because of a drug running conviction in his youth so the Mounties were planning to put him away again. A really good worker but a bit of a handful to deal with sometimes, nothing serious but he did have some issues - I don't think he ever forgave his dad for putting a ban on him working the high steel.
@Surfpirate o yes that is obviously a family with huge drug/alcohol or mental health issues. were they from Kahnawake or Akwesasne? That is sad to hear. I know many good family men who work the high steel for years and years and provide well for their families..
