Respect individual differences. Be tolerant, but not tolerant of those who hate. Know the difference between values most humans share and personal biases that make intolerant values. Be kind, compassionate. Find that balance.
Peace. Love.
You know… I think the bulk of this realm have.. It’s when we face those who haven’t when the hardships begin … those long groomed into believing they’re following someone or doctrine with all the answers, or at least ‘all the justifications,’ and that anyone not doing the same is a threat.
I’m surrounded by a village of liberals ..surrounded by a county of less-educated followers. As the liberals fight amongst themselves over righteousness & purity, the regressives fight the liberals. As the liberals are willing to help all, the regressives look out for their own. Kind words and generous ways are scoffed at, while tuff talk and taking what you can appear rewarded..
Somewhat ‘in the middle,’ I’ve glimpses of both. But ‘peace & love’ appear to be a dead-end street when confronted by ignorance and aggression. Yes, balance ~
Every day, I try to be kind and compassionate.
