I saw some comments on here about some feeling saddened about Valentine's Day's approach , and their being left out , so to speak .
This will be my first Valentine's Day since getting divorced. I'm actually looking forward to it because I won't be disappointed by the lack of thought from a significant other. I'm not dating anyone and so I know it will be just another day. Plus it's one Wednesday and some of my atheist friends get together for drinks on Wednesdays.
I used to feel that way too until I decided to make my own holiday out of it. I like to instead celebrate Al Capone Day.
This year Valentine's Day and Paczki Day are right next to each other. I'm going to be too full of Paczki to care about VD chocolate.
@josh_karpf Both. Grew up half-Polish in Detroit, and now I'm in American Poland. I know about Smigus-dyngus but have never practiced it in either direction.
Still on vacation with site member and looks like we'll be spending Valentine's together.
So...? Is there anything we can do here to help each other have a great Valentines Day? Any women who want to send me flowers? Maybe bake a cake for me?
Go out and get some flowers and chocolate. On the 14th, smell the flowers, and eat some of the chocolate. You won't have to share it with anyone. Or, post some greetings (Happy Valentines Day to You) on this site, and am sure someone will answer.
No, I really don't have any good ideas. One year I did get flowers and chocolate for each of my daughters. Went over well.
I can't wait until February 15th so I can get half off chocolate!
Oooh! Good call! I'm going to have to get to the store for that!
