If it makes you happy then must be good ??
@maturin1919 whatever dude, wasn't talking to you anyway.....is this sequitur enough? ??
Looks very festive! Nice! A little early. But still, very nice. I do like sitting in the evenings and watching the lights. It's almost meditative.
Yes me too. We have so many strands of lights on the tree it’s ridiculous. It’s early but I had to put it up when we had time.
@janniegirl Yeah December always seems to go very fast for me, and I always feel pushed for time, so I get your comment about time. A festive season is a good reason to go overboard with things that add to the experience, in this case, over the whole season. As long as the tree doesn't catch on fire haha.
@Mofferatu it’s a fake tree. Won’t dry up
Was that your tree last year? It's lovely! My Xmas this year is going to be really different--my 2 big trunks of ornaments & decorations are back with my ex to be & I probably will have a very tiny budget for gifts for the kids, leaving pretty much nothing to spend on decorations. The kids & I always go out in the woods & cut our own tree for free, but there may not be much on it this year. I was thinking of just getting a very tiny one & looking for things like pine cones or holly sprigs to decorate it. It could be nice.
Nope this is my tree we just put up tonight! Simple trees can be beautiful
When my kids were little i had it wired to the ceiling so they couldnt pull it over ?
Great idea!
@AliceDaneal You will be a contender for the Nobel prize on creativity !!!! ???
I already spoiled someone's Xmas post about the Jesus symbology of the tree. And there is a war on Xmas, like, yea, sure, duh, idiots with no knowledge.
BTW: for those saying there is a war on Christmas, I have begun saying, yes, and I support s total ban on Andy Williams song from 1963, Happy Holidays.
The tree was there long before Jeebus. They are so ignorant!
@Carin oh yes. And as their father was an evangelical minister I tried to be kind and make it a history lesson only, telling how the Catholic church took a Pagan holiday date to help convert more souls and, excuse me, even used the bibly (how I like to pronounce it) talks of shepards in the fields, and that tax season for the Romans wasn't winter and the winters kept the sheep and shepards closer to home. Of course who knows what sunk in. I had one argument with an evangelical who said the trinity always existed and it was not voted on, even when I listed the dates and told him the concept was only first written about in the 2nd century. He quoted to me from the King James bibly, the worst translation of the bible known in modern times.
