Do restaurant servers need a code or a law to protect them from customer abuse? It would seem so with all the reports by servers who stated customers stuck their hands up their dresses or were just plain rude to them. I believe it would be good for business if rude customers were addressed and asked to leave and not return. I have sat next to crying babies that have ruined our dinner. When we went out and the children misbehaved we removed them from the area and ate in shifts so as not to ruin others dinners. These customers have no regard for anyone else and should not be allowed to ruin other customers night out

You should be commendable for eating in shifts. Crying, screaming children can certainly ruin a differ/lunch/breakfast. Yes there should be laws and rules. Rude customers should be asked to leave and never come back until they get a letter from their mother that they have been trained for outings.

"The customer is always right," is a management dictate; servers cannot be rude to a customer for fear of losing their job.

@Gwendolyn2018 Of course, it depends on the manager and how bad the customer acts.

@Veteran229 Good for you.
